Kaamatan or Pesta Menuai or if translated in English ‘Harvest Festival’ is here again! What better way then to celebrate it with some song and dance ey?

Speaking of songs, here’s the updated version of my This is Kaamatan song. Previously I recorded it as an ‘acoustic version’. This time I added some other elements to give it a more festive feel and of course a Sabahan ethnic music theme to it too.

This song was recorded in my so called ‘Home Studio’ yesterday. It was one terribly hot Sunday afternoon. Since my recording room doesn’t have an air conditioner, we had to switch off the fans to reduce any unwanted sounds. It is still not studio quality definitely.

I would like to thank Alvin a.k.a Defoo who is also part of the group called Infinatez who took the trouble to come over to do this demo. We even had extra time to record some video footage for this song’s video so stay tuned for that one too!

Lastly, I would like to say Aramai tih! To all people of Sabah and Sarawak who will be celebrating the harvest Festival soon. Have a good one!

Responsorial Psalm for 18 April 2009

Here’s a responsorial Psalm that I was ‘cornered’ to do for this Saturday. I think it’s for the Feast Day?
I had only like three days ++ doing this since it was coming up this Saturday instead of the usual Sunday where I would have more time to mess with the recording.

The melody was a bit tricky I think. Going from low to high… I just hope I can pull this one through. Well, I have my wonderful choir to cover up… he he he..

RESPONSE : GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS LOVE HAS NO END.

1. LET THE SONS OF ISRAEL SAY:
‘ HIS LOVE HAS NO END.’
LET THE SONS OF AARON SAY:
‘HIS LOVE HAS NO END.’
LET THOSE WHO FEAR THE LORD SAY:
‘HIS LOVE HAS NO END.’

2. I WAS THRUST, THRUST DOWN AND FALLING
BUT THE LORD WAS MY HELPER.
THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG;
HE WAS MY SAVIOUR.
THERE ARE SHOUTS OF JOY AND VICTORY
IN THE TENTS OF THE JUST,

3. THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED
HAS BECOME THE CORNER STONE.
THIS IS THE WORK OF THE LORD,
A MARVEL IN OUR EYES.
