4th Sunday in Ordinary Times-Responsorial Psalm for 03 February 2008

As usual I had to do this last minute. I just did the Psalm last Sunday. Looks like I have to do it this week too.

HOW HAPPY ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT;THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

IT IS THE LORD WHO KEEPS FAITH FOR EVER,
WHO IS JUST TO THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED.
IT IS HE WHO GIVES BREAD TO THE HUNGRY,
THE LORD, WHO SETS PRISONERS FREE

3rd Sunday of Ordinary Times-Responsorial Psalm for 27 January 2008

Here’s something I have done previously. I changed the melody to give it a different feel.

THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY HELP

THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY HELP;
WHOM SHAL I FEAR?
THE LORD IS THE STRONGHOLD OF MY LIFE;
BEFORE WHOM SHALL I SHRINK? (R)

THERE IS ONE THING I ASK OF THE LORD,
FOR THIS I LONG,
TO LIVE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD,
ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE;
TO SAVOUR THE SWEETNESS OF THE LORD,
TO BEHOLD HIS TEMPLE. (R)

I AM SURE I SHALL SEE THE LORD’S GOODNESS
IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING.
HOPE IN HIM, HOLD FIRM AND TAKE HEART,

Psalm 32, popular for weddings

Recorded the first responsorial psalm with my new acoustic guitar. She seems to be enjoying herself doing recordings. Hope to have more experience together in the future with her. This is taken from Psalm 32. A friends wedding is coming up today so I made this tune about 3 days ago. Recorded the last bit last night. Since I was at a family member’s place, I did not bring my microphone pop-filter, instead I used a T-shirt for the job!
The church at my place decided that all psalms recital had to be done at the altar so for this one I made a minus one cd as backup music instead of the usual live playing. (Hope nothing goes wrong with the sound system)
Here it is, Psalm 32, one of the favourite psalms for weddings.

They are happy, whose God is the Lord,
